Parking Ban for Snow Removal

East Haven Mayor Joseph A. Carfora  would like to remind residents that once snow starts the Winter/Snow Parking Ordinances will once again be in effect:

AT THE START OF A SNOW EVENT, WHEN SNOW BEGINS TO FALL, A  PARKING BAN WILL BE IN EFFECT:

All vehicles shall be required to be moved to off-street facilities (driveways, etc.) where such off-street facilities are available.

Otherwise, vehicles shall be permitted to park only on the EVEN numbered sides of streets, unless otherwise posted.

THE PARKING BAN SHALL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL 36 HOURS AFTER THE SNOW EVENT HAS ENDED

During especially large and/or dangerous events, in the event the Mayor declares a “SNOW EMERGENCY”, this ban can be extended and the Mayor or Chief of Police can order the removal of all vehicles from any or all streets within the town to permit snow removal. This will enable the Public Services Department to properly and efficiently clear each street.

SIDEWALKS

All residents and businesses must clear sidewalks of snow within 24 hours following the end of the storm.
