Complaint Form - Short-Term Residential Rental
Any resident of the Town of East Haven who wishes to submit a complaint regarding a short-term residential rental use, which is allegedly operating in violation of the Town’s Short-Term Residential Rentals Ordinance, must submit said complaint in writing by completing the Short-Term Residential Rental Complaint Form and submitting the completed Complaint Form to the Planning and Zoning Department at East Haven Town Hall, 250 Main Street, East Haven, CT 06512 either in person or via mail. Questions regarding the completion of the Complaint Form should be directed to the Planning and Zoning Department at (203) 468-3280.
Prior to submitting a Complaint Form, residents are encouraged to review the Short-Term Residential Rentals Ordinance at Ordinance No. 1206 at https://library.municode.com/ct/east_haven/codes/code_of_ordinances or Ordinance (STRR)

A hard copy of the Complaint Form can be obtained from the Planning and Zoning Department at East Haven Town Hall, 250 Main Street.
***PLEASE TAKE NOTE****: No oral complaints or anonymous complaints (including complaints in which an alias is used) will be processed. In addition, illegible complaints will not be processed. Complaints will be investigated in the order in which they are received. As the focus of such complaints must be on determining whether a violation exists, whether and what type of enforcement action is necessary, and taking any such necessary enforcement action, complainants will not receive automatic status updates on their submitted complaints.
In submitting a Complaint Form, please take care to describe in detail the condition(s) at the subject property or incident(s) that occurred which are believed to be a violation of the Short-Term Residential Rentals Ordinance, including but not limited to the date(s) and time(s) the condition(s) and/or incident(s) were observed and whether any oral or written communications with the property owner(s) regarding the condition(s)/incident(s) were exchanged.
