Administration / Management

The Department of Administration and Management was created by Town ordinance in 1992. At that time, the Department consolidated the activities of the Economic Development Department, Human Resources and general governmental administration.

Assessor

The Assessor’s Office is responsible for maintaining an accurate description of all Real, Personal and Motor Vehicle property in the town, determining and recording the assessed value of each property, and for calculating and annually reporting the Town's Grand List.

Building Department

The Building Department for the Town of East Haven enforces State of Connecticut Building Codes. The Building Official stringently adheres to those codes to ensure the safety of all those who live in the Town of East Haven.

Civil Service Commission

The Civil Service Commission is committed to building a workforce that reflects the diversity of our society through expanding the Town’s use of advertising and participation in regional examinations and to uphold the principles of the Merit System.

Economic Development

The Town of East Haven Economic Development consists of the Director of Economic Development and the Economic Development Commission, working with the East Haven Chamber of Commerce.

The Finance Department is a centralized point for fiscal information concerning accounting, payroll, tax, assessor, purchasing, and treasury functions, which are all coordinated through this office.

Human Resources

The Municipality of East Haven Human Resources Department provides employment services and maintains records for current and past employees, and assists departments and employees in delivering quality services to the public.
