East Haven Fire Marshal

IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING INSPECTION AND PLAN REVIEW FEES!  In March of 2023 the East Haven Town Council approved a new fee schedule.  All changes will take effect on April 1, 2023. Please see the new fee schedule below.  If you have any questions, please contact our office.  Thank you!

The staff of the East Haven Fire Marshal's Office consists of a full-time Fire Marshal, a part-time fire inspector-investigator. Our staff is charged with the duty to perform various duties, many of which are mandated by the Connecticut General Statutes. These duties include inspection of all properties, with the exception of one and two-family homes, unless requested by the homeowner. The Fire Marshal is required to perform investigations as they pertain to the cause and origin of fires that occur in the Town of East Haven.

Our staff is mandated to issue permits for hazardous operations, which include but are not limited to the installation of permanent propane tanks and piping, heating fuel storage tanks, gasoline and diesel fuel storage tanks, blasting permits, and commercial fireworks displays, plan reviews, liquor licenses and more.

In addition to these mandated functions, the Fire Marshal's Office staff offers public fire prevention education programs to all who request a presentation. We enjoy visiting our town’s public schools for fire prevention presentations.

Please send any plans for review to firemarshal@easthavenfire.com
