It is the responsibility of the taxpayer to pay your tax bills on time.  You will only receive one bill per year, even if you have 2 installments. Please note that failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the taxpayer the requirement to pay on time. If your bill is $200 or more for the year you will have two coupons attached to the bill.  It is your choice to pay the bill in 1 or 2 installments.  It is your responsibility to remember to pay your bill in January 2025. After each grace period, Delinquent Demand Notices will be mailed out.  Failure to meet your responsibility to pay your taxes could result in your account being given to a collection agency, marshal, attorney and/or your bank accounts may be garnished. Per State Statutes 7-148 & 12-130 through 12-163, the Tax Collector has the responsibility to collect all taxes due to the Town of East Haven and to apply interest and fees on delinquent accounts.  We are also instructed to use the tools (State Marshals, Collection Agencies etc.) given to us to collect all delinquent accounts. Please refer to the Department of Motor Vehicle’s website at www.ct.gov/dmv for valuable information pertaining to the status of your Motor Vehicle.
